Meeting Stay Behinds

Here’s a tip I learned for managing meetings effectively

In a small team, it doesn’t make sense to have a lot of meetings. Just a 15 minute standup daily, to go through progress/blockers/what’s to be worked on next

Sometimes critical issues might arise and need immediate attention from other developers, designers, etc.

This is what “stay behinds”. Every standup can extend to maybe ~45 minutes for anyone to create their own adhoc meeting / agenda after

This reduces the need to plan around “What time is everyone available to meetup for this issue to be talked about?” or “Who do I need to talk to for this meeting?”

Everyone is already present at the standup, and people can drop from the stay behind if their input is not needed

Less meetings need to be on a calendar as a result, and more work gets done
